How social advertising brought in big results for this solar company
Beyond Solar provides turnkey alternative energy solutions throughout the U.S. for both residential and commercial applications. They design, finance, and install solar power projects in order to help customers save money on their electric costs and increase the use of renewable energy.
Beyond Solar's COO Vedika Datta came to us with a goal for their social media - to gain leads and increase awareness of their company. Prior to working with Likeable, she experimented with running advertisements on Beyond Solar's Facebook page and she saw decent results but was unsure about what the full suite of Facebook advertising tools could offer. Given her objective of increased sales, we decided to test out a combination of Facebook’s more sales-centric advertisements - lead generation ads and brand awareness ads.
Our Senior Customer Success Manager, Stefanie Peterson, created 2
lead generation campaigns and 3 brand awareness campaigns with Vedika's goals in mind. The brand awareness ads focused on Beyond Solar's array of products and services; these ads were designed to prime the pump so that when customers came to Beyond Solar's page they would get a positive impression of the brand as a whole. In total, the ads reached 76,246 people and had an estimated 2,130 person ad recall lift - that's 2,130 people that wouldn't have recognized the Beyond Solar
brand before seeing the ad, but do now.
With brand awareness and page activity bolstered, we launched two lead ads to incentivize customers to go solar. We conducted market research and tried to find what compelled the potential Beyond Solar customer to make a purchase.
We learned that achieving energy independence and cutting energy costs were the biggest drivers of desire for solar energy systems. We then adjusted our strategy to appeal to these customers. This effort, (combining multiple campaigns, micro-targeting, market research, and a modest budget) brought in 29 leads and led to measurable sales results across an array of high consideration items.
